Profile

Professor John J. Neale has been a member of the Carroll School faculty since 2013. He teaches courses on operations and supply chain management, management science, and sports analytics. In 2016 John received the Carroll School’s Coughlin Faculty Excellence Award in undergraduate teaching. Before coming to òòò½Ö±²¥, John was an Assistant Professor of Operations and Technology Management at Boston University’s School of Management. His work there on inventory models with nonstationary demand won the 2008 Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice. In 2009 he was awarded B.U.'s Broderick Prize for Excellence in Teaching.

Before becoming a professor, John spent more than a decade in industry. He was Vice President of Research and Development at supply chain software start-up Optiant where he led the research, software development, and product management teams. Prior to that, he helped set supply chain strategy at Hewlett-Packard as part of their Strategic Planning and Modeling team. He taught courses at Harvard and Stanford Universities and is the co-editor of the textbook The Practice of Supply Chain Management.
