Profile

Kristina has been working at òòò½Ö±²¥ since 2013. Her training is in education, social and developmental psychology, and sport and exercise science. Kristina's research explores components of achievement motivation and social influence on various psychological, social, and developmental outcomes in athletes, with a focus on positive youth development through sport. Quantitative and qualitative research projects have included the study of parental influence on adolescent athletes' self-handicapping and achievement goal orientations, perceived parental influence on stress and enjoyment in sub-elite youth sport participants, the interaction of basic psychological needs and self-theories of ability on self-handicapping in collegiate athletes, young athletes' beliefs about character in sport, and a longitudinal evaluation of a youth sport character education program. Kristina is a youth sport director and coach, as well as an educational sport psychology consultant.
