Dear Lynch School Community,

It has been a busy and exciting year here at the Lynch School. We have welcomed three new young colleagues who joined us in 2017, we have hired three more who will start in 2018, and we are launching three searches for faculty positions to start in 2019. We have promising new initiatives in formative education and learning sciences that involve both research and practice, and we are developing new online degree programs in educational leadership as well as curriculum and instruction. Our U.S. News ranking moved up two slots to 21, and we continue to work hard to build our reputation.

This edition of eColloquia focuses on the deepening international reach of our work. The Lynch School has had international collaborations around the world for many years, with faculty doing important research and consultation on every continent except Antarctica. This year alone we have added formal collaborations with universities on four ņņņ½Ö±²„: the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, Seoul National University of Education in Korea, Mary Immaculate College in Ireland, Alberto Hurtado University in Chile and the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Russia.

These partnerships will facilitate faculty and student exchanges as well as collaborative research projects. We are also developing an online degree program in Curriculum and Instruction called ā€œGlobal Perspectives.ā€ This program will recruit students and include cases from around the world. The Center for International Higher Education, always a leader in the schoolā€™s international work, continues to build on its extensive network of international partners and has launched a hybrid master's degree program in partnership with international universities.

Through these and other international projects, we are raising our profile and extending our work around the globe. I hope that you enjoy reading about this exciting work being done at the Lynch School.

Sincerely.

Stanton Wortham
