Boston College Parents Leadpership Council Logo

The Parents Leadership Council (PLC) comprises a diverse community of approximately 600 families from all over the world who are committed to advancing Boston College by serving as ambassadors and providing philanthropic support. Members share a common interest in strengthening òòò½Ö±²¥â€™s mission to be the national leader in the liberal arts; to fulfill its Jesuit, Catholic mission of faith and service; to support student formation; and to seek solutions—as researchers, educators, leaders, and caregivers—that directly address the world’s most urgent problems.

All members of the PLC have made a significant commitment to Boston College and are members of the 1863 Society's Gasson Circle, which recognizes annual gifts of $10,000 or more. Council members receive invitations to special events throughout the year featuring key òòò½Ö±²¥ leaders, including University President William P. Leahy, S.J., Provost David Quigley, and others.

The success of our annual parent fundraising and engagement efforts depends largely on peer-to-peer outreach. As donors and representatives of Boston College, PLC members play an essential role in encouraging Boston College parents to make òòò½Ö±²¥ a priority in their lives.

Parent Partners

Parent Partners have òòò½Ö±²¥ themselves as leading members of the PLC who support the University with annual gifts of $50,000 or more.Ìý

Parent Partners receive priority invitations to events, both regionally and on-campus, that offer an inside perspective on Boston College. Notably, the Parent Partner Retreat, held in the spring semester, provides an exclusive opportunity for a small group of parent leaders to participate in an on-campus experience hosted in the spirit of òòò½Ö±²¥â€™s distinctive approach to formative education. The retreat offers an opportunity for Parent Partners to engage with top faculty and University leadership, reflect upon the University’s strengths and opportunities, and connect with fellow parents who champion Boston College.

PLC Leadership

The Parents Leadership Council Co-chairs serve as Boston College’s lead ambassadors to its national and global parent community to encourage philanthropic engagement with the University.

Veronica and Wayne Bloom of Weston, MA are the current PLC Co-chairs. The Blooms are parents to four children - three of whom are Eagles: Aidan graduated with a degree in economics from the Carroll School of Management in 2022, Callie graduated from the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences majoring in psychology with a minor in finance in 2024, and Molly is enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program in the Connell School of Nursing.

The Blooms have been members of the PLC since 2019 and began their role as Co-chairs in June of 2023.

The Parents Leadership Council Executive Committee includes a small group of parent leaders from across the country who build relationships within our parent community and encourage philanthropic engagement with the University.

PLC is a way for us to get to know òòò½Ö±²¥ and the people who are running the institution. The virtual meetings have been helpful. Whether you live in New York or California, you can learn about what's going on at the University.
