Profile

Marilyn Cochran-Smith is the Emerita Cawthorne Professor of Teacher Education at the Lynch School of Education and Human Development and an Adjunct Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her research interests include practitioner inquiry andteacher education research, practice, and policy with a focus on social justice and equity. She has written 10 books, seven of which have won national awards, and more than 250 articles, chapters, and editorials. She is a widely known national and international speaker with recent keynote presentations at Texas A&M University, the University of Helsinki, and the Japan Open University. Dr. Cochran-Smith was the director of the PhD program in Curriculum & Instructionat òòò½Ö±²¥ for 22 years; she is not taking new students. She is a former president of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and an elected member of the National Academy ofEducation.
